Life in Seoul is highly isolated. Thus, on some occasions, I find signs of other life forms only on the shallow surface of the city. In this painting, you can only assume the dwellers' presence by examining the building's surface. The silent turning of the electricity meters and the tangled electric cords could be interpreted as signs of life. With this painting, I intended to lift off the thinnest layer of the face of the building and place it on the canvas.
